Steatite ceramic is a magnesium silicate material that has been used for many decades as insulators or enclosures for electrical components. Additionally, it has been incorporated into many appliance, aerospace and automotive applications where moderate strength, low cost and good electrical resistance are required. Steatite ceramic can be formed into complex shapes prior to sintering, which has led to wide usage in a variety of applications.

The Low Loss Steatite ceramic material provides the same advantages as our normal steatite, but with a lower dielectric loss factor, and typically a higher strength and higher density. The Low Loss Steatite is used in applications where better insulation is desired, since it has a low dielectric loss factor and relatively high electrical resistance.

In addition to Low Loss Steatite, a Standard Steatite and White version of the material is also available.

China Glass Ceramic Inc. , Inc. offers three grades of steatite (Steatite, White Steatite & Low Loss Steatite) with varying properties to meet your most challenging applications.
